Jose Garcés was born in Almeria in 1991. He obtained his degree in Chemistry at the Universidad de Almería in 2016. During the last year of the degree he realized a final work on synthesis and structural characterization of several carbohydrate derivates for therapeutic purpose under the supervision of Dr. Juan Manuel Casas Solvas and Dr. Antonio Vargas Berenguel. In 2018, he obtained his postgraduate degree in Organic Chemistry at the Universidad Complutense (Madrid). He joined the research group of Dra. Rosario González Muñiz at Institute of Medical Chemistry (IQM-CSIC) working on synthesis of peptides, using the technique of synthesis in solid phase, and conformational studies using circular dichroims experiments under the supervision of Dra Mª Jesús Pérez de Vega. In November 2018 he joined the research group of Prof. Ángela Sastre-Santos making PhD studies of Bioengineering.
